I have been working in my backyard for about 3 years now. It started as an overgrown wasteland of overgrown bushes, debris, dirt, english ivy, large poplar trees and a ditch. The ditch I found out is actually a raging whitewater body of water when it rains hard but then dries up and needs to be kept clean of debris until the next rain. If it is not and backs up then things start to float.
I have come up with quit an extensive plan for the back yard and over the three year period have improved it a great deal with some of the learned skills I needed to acquire to build the different things I have incorporated into the backyard. They range from a stream and pond with a stone front to the pond so you can sit at the edge to a Japanese Garden and now I am in the middle of creating a teahouse to fit into the layout of the garden.
I will share with you the details of the pond building in the first part of this blog.
Leave any comments about things you might like me to touch on.
